Kurt Cobain of Nirvana collaborated with Fender to create the Jag-Stang, an electric guitar that merged parts from the Fender Mustang and Jaguar models in the mid-1990s. Despite the fact that Kurt Cobain rarely played the guitar on stage, artists such as Ruban Nielson of Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Molly Rankin of Alvvays would later embrace the famous offset design.
Fender has now confirmed that the Jag-Stang will return for the first time since 2006. Starting in October 2021, it’ll be available in Sonic Blue and Fiesta Red for $1,249. The Cory Wong Stratocaster, the J Mascis Telecaster (based on one of the Dinosaur Jr. co-studio founder’s guitars), and a limited-run Screamadelica 30th Anniversary Stratocaster with Primal Scream’s iconic artwork are among the other Fender signature models released today. Fender has more information about the Jag-Stang.
